Sociologidagarna 2018 extends a warm welcome to early career researchers with two special events.
Pre-conference social mingle
All PhD students and early career researchers are warmly invited to a social pre-conference mingle on Wednesday, March 7th, from 11.00 – 13.00. This will be an informal social event that encourages participants to arrive, get acquainted with the venue and each other before the formal working sessions begin. This will be an excellent opportunity to meet old friends or extend your network with new acquaintances. Light lunch will be served.
Workshop with Michèle Lamont
We would also like to invite you to a workshop for PhD students with our keynote speaker Michéle Lamont on Thursday, March 8th, between 11:00 – 12:30. This is an opportunity to engage in an informal conversation with one of today’s leading sociologists. Based on short pre-circulated readings we are looking forward to discuss questions ranging from the central theme of boundary and classification practices in Lamont’s work, to broader issues including the role of sociology in relation to other disciplines and society today.
Participation in both events is free for conference participants, but registration for each event is required and done as part of your online conference registration.
