Vincent Couloigner has had and have a pivotal role in pediatric Otorhinolaryngology internationally. He has contributed significantly in several areas of the field both scientifically, clinically and with education.  In his work there are important contributions in malformations and tumours of the respiratory tracts. He has provided knowledge about the inner ear homeostasis and how it reacts to cochlear implants. To this he has provided eduction and educational material to the benefit of many ENT physcians and their little patients. This make VC a most competent and worthy winner of the Carl Axel Hamberger Prize this year.


Per Caye-Thomasen

Per Caye-Thomasen is Professor of Otology and Neurotology at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and Senior ear, cochlear implant and skull base surgeon, at Rigshospitalet Copenhagen. He has clinical and surgical experience within the field since more than 20 years, and extensive experience in basic and clinical research related to hearing and balance. He is member of a number of national and international societies, including Board Member of Politzer Society and previous board member of The Nordic Association of Otolaryngology (NOLF), IFOS Executive Committee, European Regional Secretary, past-president of the Danish Society of Oto-rhino-laryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (DSOHH) and past-president of The European Academy of Otology and Neurotology (EAONO). 2022-2024 was Per Caye-Thomasen president of Confederation of European ORL Societies (CEORL) and during these years he created conditions for young colleagues’ exchange and education, and he also worked for increased access to health care globally. Per Caye-Thomasen is scientific co-chair for the upcoming CEORL congress in Gothenburg 2026.
Per Caye-Thomasen plays a crucial role for Otorhinolaryngology both clinically, scientifically and educational.
Per is a most worthy winner of the Gunnar Holmgren Prize.
