The themes of SILOS Conferences has always been relevant, but are quickly developing into important core needs in society. The importance of research and networks are even greater in times of rapid changes and Chalmers is proud to host this conference as a possibility for exchange and new insights.

On behalf of the conference organizer MKON, editors, organising committee, the International Scientific Committee, and Session Chairmen, it was our great pleasure to welcome delegates to the 15th Shock and Impact Loads on Structures (SILOS 15) Conference, held in the vibrant city of Gothenburg, Sweden, from 12–13 June 2025.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the President and CEO of Chalmers University of Technology for contributing a welcome note, and to the Vice President of Chalmers for delivering the conference opening speech. We also thank our generous sponsors: the Foundation Fortifikationskårens Forskningsfond and Viper Applied Science, and OpenRadioss for having the OpenRadioss User’s Day along with the conference, their invaluable support in making SILOS 15 a success. Furthermore, we thank also our keynote speakers for highly valuable speeches.
SILOS 15 brought together a diverse community of researchers, engineers, industry professionals and governmental agencies to explore the latest developments in the field of shock and impact loads on structures. The conference served as a dynamic forum for presenting cutting-edge research, sharing knowledge, and fostering collaboration across disciplines.
The conference was held at Lindholmen Conference Centre, Gothenburg, located on Sweden’s west coast, provided an inspiring backdrop for the event. As a city known for innovation, culture, and maritime heritage, Gothenburg offered attendees not only world-class conference facilities but also the chance to enjoy its welcoming atmosphere, iconic landmarks, and coastal charm. From the historic archipelago to the city’s renowned seafood and vibrant public spaces, the setting contributed to a truly memorable experience.
It was a pleasure to host this esteemed event in Gothenburg, and we extend our sincere thanks to all presenters, authors of conference papers, and participants for their valuable contributions and engagement.
