Rachel Bell

Miss Rachel Bell is a consultant vascular surgeon at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
She qualified, with distinction in surgery, from United Medical & Dental Schools of Guy’s & St.Thomas’ in 1994
and did her surgical training in London and the South East Thames rotation. She was appointed as a consultant
at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 2005 and was the clinical lead for vascular surgery for GSTT
from 2008-2016 and she helped lead the reconfiguration of vascular services across South East London. She
went on to be the Clinical Director of Cardiovascular services at GSTT and the Vascular Network Director for SE
London. After 15 years in London she relocated back to the North East and was appointed as a Consultant
Vascular Surgeon at the Freeman Hospital in 2020.
Rachel is the national GIRFT lead for Vascular Surgery and the immediate past President of the of the Vascular
Society of Great Britain & Ireland. She has been the Chair of the Circulation Foundation (UK Charity supporting
patients with vascular disease) and is a past President of the British Society of Endovascular Therapy. She
represents the North East region on the NHSE Clinical Reference Group for Vascular Surgery. She is also part of
a multidisciplinary national team involved in rolling out the Aortic Dissection Toolkit, aimed at improving the
care provided for patients presenting with acute aortic syndromes.
Her clinical interests include aortic aneurysm repair, aortic dissection, open thoracoabdominal aneurysm
repair and the surgery and management of vascular graft infection. She is also interested in sustainable and
innovative healthcare system improvement, staff wellbeing and prevention of burnout.

Gustavo Oderich

Dr. Gustavo Oderich is the John P. and Kathrine G. McGovern Professor of Surgery and Distinguished Chair of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).  
He serves as Director of the Aortic Center and of the Advanced Endovascular Aortic Program at the Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute at the Texas Medical Center. Dr. Oderich completed his general surgery and vascular surgery training at the Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic, joining the Mayo Clinic faculty in 2006. He relocated to Houston in 2020 from the Mayo Clinic, where he practiced for 20 years and was the immediate past Chair of the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery.

Dr. Oderich is a genuine academic surgeon who has become world-renowned for advancements in fenestrated and branched stent-graft technology to treat complex aortic aneurysms and dissections. Dr. Oderich has an extensive bibliography that includes four edited books, over 700 publications in peer-reviewed journals, abstracts and book chapters.  He is Associate Editor in two international journals and is a member of the editorial board of over 30 surgical and medical journals.
Dr. Oderich is a member in good standing of numerous societies including American Surgical Association, American College of Surgeons and the Society for Vascular Surgery.

Nikolaos Tsilimparis

Prof. Dr. Nikolaos Tsilimparis is Head of the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in the Ludwig Maximilian University Hospital in Munich, Germany.
Born in Greece in 1979, Nikolaos Tsilimparis graduated from the University of Thessaloniki medical school, before continuing his training in Germany, where he completed his thesis in the University of Berlin and received his German Board of General Surgery degree.
Following a fellowship in the Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, he received his PhD from the University of
Hamburg and the Certification of the German Board of Vascular Surgery while becoming fellow of the European board of Vascular surgery and the American College of Surgeons.
 
Nikolaos Tsilimparis specializes in complex endovascular aortic surgery and especially fenestrated and branched endografts from the aortic arch to the iliacs, as well as open aortic repair and surgery of the supra-aortic vessels.
Scientific projects include clinical research and evaluation of innovative endovascular techniques, involvement in the Global Burden of Disease consortium as well as vascular focused evaluation of national and international databases.

Tsilimparis is author of more than 260 peer-reviewed scientific papers and book chapters and leads the Vascular Surgery clinical research Program in the University of Munich.

Anders Gottsäter

Professor i medicin vid Lunds Universitet och Internmedicinska kliniken, Skånes Universitetssjukhus (SUS) Malmö.
Har tidigare arbetat vid Kliniken för kärlsjukdomar vid SUS Malmö 1994-2020, och författat ca 275 vetenskapliga publikationer och 50 bokkapitel, samt redigerat 4 böcker inom området kärlmedicin.
Ordförande för Svensk förening för vaskulär medicin 2012-18, styrelseledamot i European Society of Vascular Medicine 2016-23 samt 2022-24 ordförande i nationell arbetsgrupp (NAG) "Sekundärprevention vid benartärsjukdom".


Annica Ravn-Fischer

Jobbar som kardiolog på hjärtintensiven med ett brett klientel av svårt sjuka kardiologiska patienter. Har även ansvar för uppföljning av hjärtinfarktpatienter och ansvarar för Sahlgrenskas sekundärpreventiva team.
Jag har varit med i gruppen som tagit fram nationella vårdriktlinjer för kranskärlsjukdom och fram till hösten 2023 lett det regionala Processteamet för kranskärlsjukdom i VGR.
Jag är med i styrgruppen för RIKS-HIA som är en del av SWEDEHEART-registret.
