We are pleased to announce ARCH26, the 7th International Conference on Architecture, Research, Care and Health. The conference will take place at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 10 - 12 June, 2026.
ARCH26 offers a platform for scholars, researchers, and experts in the field of healthcare, healthcare planning and building design to come together to exchange ideas, share research and explore emerging questions.
Important update: ARCH26 conference dates adjusted to June 10-12 The annual European Healthcare Design Congress (EHD) held in London, UK, and the biannual ARCH International Conference on Architecture, Research, Care and Health, scheduled to be held in Gothenburg in 2026, have coordinated their conference dates to support each other’s focus on research, practice and policy.
ARCH26, will now take place from 10-12 June at Chalmers, Göteborg, Sweden and EHD26 takes place in London, on 15-17 June.
Conference theme and sub themes
The overarching theme of the conference is: Exploring intersections between healthcare and the physical environment.
The conference sub themes are:
•Design for care – from urban scale to artefacts •Society and health for all – public health, health promotion, wellbeing • Age and space – quality of life for all ages •Health and delivery – organizational issues, spatial planning, facilities development, health services •New perspectives – intersections between healthcare and the physical environment that we do not know about!
The themes are broad, and sessions will be organized based on types of submissions. In addition to paper presentations, the conference will include a poster session and practice lab sessions.
