Dear researchers, colleagues, professionals and friends!
We are pleased to announce ARCH26, the 7th International Conference on Architecture, Research, Care and Health.
The conference will take place at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 10 - 12 June, 2026.

ARCH26 offers a platform for scholars, researchers, and experts in the field of healthcare, healthcare planning and building design to come together to exchange ideas, share research and explore emerging questions.

Important update: Abstract deadline extended
We are approching the final day to submit abstracts for ARCH26. However, as we are eager to see more perspectives at the conference, the call for abstracts now have an extended deadline until Tuesday December 16th.
 
Do consider the sub-themes and other perspectives that moves all aspects of healthcare design forward.

Conference theme and sub themes

The overarching theme of the conference is:
Exploring intersections between healthcare and the physical environment.

The conference sub themes are:

• Design for care – from urban scale to artefacts
• Society and health for all – public health, health promotion, wellbeing
• Age and space – quality of life for all ages
• Health and delivery – organizational issues, spatial planning, facilities development, health services
• New perspectives – intersections between healthcare and the physical environment that we do not know about!

The themes are broad, and sessions will be organized based on types of submissions. In addition to paper presentations, the conference will include a poster session and practice lab sessions.

Practicalities

A draft program and information on accomodation, conference fees etc will be presented in the beginning of 2026. Detailed information on format for presentations and activities at the conference are being finalized along with the detailing of the program
 
Work and planning with a publisher is also underway and template for paper will be presented in the beginning of 2026.
