The participant's name badge will be provided at the registration desk. All participants are requested to wear the badge throughout the congress. Only badge holders will be admitted to the sessions.
For lost namebadge 20€ will be charge for new.
Shops are open between 10.00 and 18.00 hrs on weekdays and from 10.00 to 15.00 on Saturdays. Shops in the city centre have extended opening hours, some even on Sundays between 12.00 and 16.00 hrs.
Certificates of Attendance will be provided for all participants. The Certificate of Attendance will be sent out by e-mail the week after the congress.
The average temperature in June is around 18 C.
International credit cards are accepted for payments in hotels, restaurants and shops.
The currency in Sweden is the Swedish krona, SEK.
The Congress Organisers or the Congress Secretariat cannot accept liability for injuries or losses of whatever nature incurred by participants and/or accompanying persons, nor for loss of or damage to their luggage and/or personal belongings. Please check the validity of your own travel insurance. All reasonable endeavours will be made to hold the 21st International Vacuum Congress and to present its program as scheduled under circumstances which assure the comfort and safety of all participants and accompanying persons. However, neither the 21st International Vacuum Congress nor its committees, representatives or agents, shall be held liable by any person as a result of the cancellation of the congress or of any of the arrangements, programs or plans connected therewith, or for any injury, damage or inconvenience which may be suffered by any person while travelling to or from, or during such person's presence in Sweden in connection with this Congress. Participants and accompanying persons are advised to purchase their own insurance against any such occurrences.
Electricity in Sweden is 220V and 50 Hz with 2-hole sockets. We recommend you to bring an universal power adapter if needed.
Visa Information
Participants requiring a visa for entry to Sweden are strongly advised to make their application in their home country at least two month before the intended date of travel.
Please contact your nearest Swedish/Schengen Embassy, Consulate or your Travel agency for more information. If you are not flying directly to Sweden please note that a transit visa might be needed for some countries in order to be able to continue your travel to Sweden.
If a letter of invitation and proof of insurance is needed for the visa application, MKON can send this upon request after you have registered for the IVC-21 and full payment has been received. Please e-mail oscar@mkon.se if you are in need of an invitation letter.

Participants needing a visa for entry to Sweden are strongly advised to make their application in their home country and well in advance. If in doubt, information can be obtained from your nearest Swedish Embassy or consulate, or from your travel agency. Please note that whilst invitation letters will be sent in advance of the Congress, neither the 21st International Vacuum Congress nor the Congress Organisers can be held responsible for failure to obtain a visa and in such an event it will not be possible to reimburse the registration or the hotel fee.
