Green Energy – Materials for a sustainable energy sector

The European Green Deal aspires for Europe to be the first climate-neutral continent by 2050. To ensure the achievement of the energy and climate targets, a clean energy transition and an integration of renewables, energy efficiency and other sustainable solutions across sectors are needed. Europe must strengthen its capacity to quickly respond to energy demand and supply caused by the volatile geopolitical interests.

In this session, we will address the contribution that nano and advanced materials can provide on fossil-free energy production, energy storage, and energy efficiency by bringing together stakeholders from the industry and research communities to discuss cross- disciplinary topics.

Our aim is that the discussions and exchange will raise awareness of the potential of material solutions to advance the ambitious European agenda on energy and climate neutrality.

Expected Impact

The session will push the urgent issues of efficient fossil-free energy production, energy storage as well as energy efficiency, areas where Europe has a strong tradition, highly ambitious industries efforts and ability to make a strong contribution to our domestic, i.e., European, as well as global needs for actions.
